Before the hordes of ECO’s completely took over we were still blessed with a decent amount of variety on CN. For years this was a go to spot for me if I ran into an eastbound train right after leaving work. You alway knew you could beat most trains up the grade between Mansewood and Speyside. This day a Dash9 leads a pair of “hand me down” Dash-8’s as a blizzard slowly fills the landscape at mile 30 of the Halton subdivision.

  1. LOL looks familiar – http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=36415. I remember because I caught this power earlier in the morning as 564 rescuing a stalled 539

  2. Oops
Gets hard to remember what I’ve posted sometimes, LOL.
Mods can pull this one if they want.

  3. Haha yeah I hear ya there. This one is just particularly memorable to me as 2009 was on a very late 539 and stalled somewhere between Duff and Robbins East, and 564 was sent light power to rescue and led out with that junker GECX. 564 with 539′s train met CP 143 at Robbins. Was perhaps the first full day I’d spent down in Niagara so a lot of it has stuck with me.
