Yes the Galt subdivision almost seems dead enough somedays you probably could drag race on it, LOL, but this was not the case. Light power CP train 234 has BNSF 8375 fir power as it rolls past a track inspection vehicle in Streetsville on a sun but cold winters day.

  1. Great shot, I think I know who wins the race, but ….. it’s always a bit of a disappointment for crews on CP if they have a single unit by itself. Such movements are limited to 40mph (unless that’s changed since I retired). If it was back in the days of cabooses, a caboose & a single unit could do track speed. Now with “vans” gone, crews have to hope for 2 or more units if they’re leaving their train somewhere & running light the rest of the way.
