Yes, I suppose this isn't really Lynden West but I've called it that for so many years.........and to me it is not Brantford. The bridge over Fairchild creek was a great spot for photos many years back. I suppose it still is, but I'm too lazy to hike in there and see how it is these days. On the first day of June almost 39 years ago this was idyllic a setting as there was being trackside; just plopped against a rock or a log and snoozing away the morning with scanner in hand. Now, of course.......there's ticks....and other annoyances....one of those being very few trains. CN 2533, 9583 and 9309 are eastbound with 98 cars and caboose 79748, so my notebook reads. Leader 2533, an MLW M-420, was renumbered 3533 in 1986 and then went to Hudson Bay Rwy along with a number of other units in the series. CN 9583 ret'd in 2000 and GP40 9309 sold to RLK, keeping same number; and retired shortly after.

  1. Great shot! A spot I wish you could photograph today.

  2. Those cars 3 to 5 will go to McDonnell Douglas near Malport for DC10 wings

  3. This is great, nice shot Arnold. The shot is not accessible at all from the ground these days, the trees have taken over.

I did fly the drone here a few years back which makes it doable but as you can see the bridge is largely hidden by growth.
