A short Muskeg Mixed makes it easy to frame fit. :^) The units are fresh and crispy tonight. Looking into my notes, the 5517 I first spotted in stripes Sept.86 and the 5503 with hers in March 87. Lucky chance to have them both headed in the same direction. That is Baggage 7856, Coach 5095 and Caboose 79881 at the rear. It is just a short distance to the connecting track where the Lac La Biche Sub. will take the mixed train north.

  1. Here is a shot by Todd Steinman from Dec. 2017 and the 5517 is still looking great as the 4717 30 years later.

  2. Nice angle to catch the entire train. I can smell the fresh paint on those two units. The white stripes on the pilot looks nice.

  3. Your endless supply of wonderful CN photos from the Coronado Sub. are greatly appreciated! Keep them coming. The above photo would make a nice and challenging picture puzzle. :-)

  4. Your mention of endless, I should make mention, because you are quite right. I was in this guys farm field how many times every week. There was a very few occasional waves, but never an official, “do you mind if I use your property?”. So, 30+ years later, thanks for letting me use your field. :-)
    Better late than never.

  5. F units are great but a pair of these so clean and new? Awesome

  6. Thanks Steve. :-) After all this time I was just noticing, the first grain hopper is a CPWX hopper. After 6 years of CN operation, CP hoppers were still being delivered for spotting? Interesting.
