Build a railway they said, it will be easy they said. 119 flies out of one of the many rock cuts blasted as the CPR made its way northwest. I always find it remarkable to comprehend how they built this in the 1880s with nothing but dynamite and determination. 

The crew is off to a flying start on their trip to Cartier, and the mood is clearly good.

  1. Winter beauty shot Dave….agree on the challenges they must have faced, swamp, granite, uneven terrain, black flies, deer flies and all other manner of flying biting insects, and in the off season…frigid cold…a real testament to the Canadian spirit
