CP 9061 trails a pair of CP Rail Budd RDC-1's, now owned by VIA Rail (but still in action red paint, and maintained down at John Street roundhouse) on the Havelock Budd run as they throttle up out of Leaside and head down the Don Branch for downtown Toronto. Going by a 1982 timetable (outdated?), this is likely westbound VIA train #187 from Havelock to Toronto, scheduled to be at Leaside around 8:30am in the morning.

The weed-grown sidings on the left are for the former Crothers Caterpillar equipment dealership that was once on the west side of Millwood south of the tracks. Founded in Leaside as a used equipment sales outfit in 1939, they became the prominent local Caterpillar equipment dealer starting in 1945 (they also handled Northwest shovels, and briefly Allis Chalmers equipment in the 40's). They had recently moved north to Vaughan (Concord) the previous year in 1979 (Hwy 7 & Jane, acquired by Toromont CAT in 1993, still operating today). While the former Leaside property has since been redeveloped, a nearby forested area carries the name Crothers Woods.
