Always one of my favourite railroads but unfortunately not a railroad I had much opportunity to explore. The Canadian American Railroad has a nice colourful roster that certainly honoured Canadian Pacific’s heritage of the line it took over. The CDAC’s family of railroads all had nice paint schemes. Sadly the railroad had too many financial problems to survive and the railroad disappeared after I only was able to make a couple visits. The roster mainly consisted of uniquely rebuilt F40’s, former SP GP35 downgraded into GP38’s along with the BAR’s fleet of GP38’s. There were a few other units on the roster as well. Even though the weather didn’t cooperate on both my trips to the CDAC, I cherished the time I spent around Farnham. The yard always had a nice mix of power hanging around, just like this day.
