CN train 218 with 9573 leading has dropped off its head end cars into MacMillan Yard, backed out on to the York Sub and is now heading west with the "pigs" for the Brampton Intermodal Terminal. The 9555 on the left is actually the trailing unit of a consist that has just dropped off its train on the north connecting track to the Newmarket Sub siding at Snider and is returning to retrieve its caboose before heading to MacMillan Yard.

The comments on my earlier post got me to think of this image. Thanks everyone.

  1. Thanks for sharing this First954 ! Based on yesterday’s comments, I’m guessing this was 718 spotting their empty train for the return trip to Uhthoff. It’s funny how it got routine (dare I say, boring) to see three GP40-2W’s on what seemed like every train back then. ;-)

  2. @Aitch..ding ding, you are correct sir. This is where 718/719 left their trains for the respective crews.
Yes, even though the GP40-2W were everywhere, they were awesome to operate, especially where you had 5 of them in the consist like on the ore train 730/731 :-)
