GMD-1's with dandruff :^). The grain extra has just finished picking up 4 hoppers from the elevators in Redwater and now has all 35 loads rolling for Gibbons. Looking at my notes, I shot this at f8 and 1/125, surprised there is no blur in the picture. This photo taken at the Burger Baron crossing (main street) in Redwater at 10:55.

    Yeah, it is not the sexiest picture, I really like the style of numbers used on the 1069′s numberboard. Plus, you can easily see the extra lights are lit up. :-)

    These units always look great in their original configuration long hood leading.

    Hi Terry, you are certainly right. Those NAR units always provide interesting versions of elephant style. Although they are long hood forward, the trailing units have their all weather windows on this side.

    I snapped CN 1169 (ex-CN 1069) on a much warmer day 16 years later on August 20, 2002 sitting in a deadline at ONR’s yard in North Bay, ON.

    Hi Paul, thanks for the additional photos on the 1069/1169. Some lucky person, hopefully, was able to secure those original number boards for themselves.
