One of the two ex-VIA/exx-CN passenger cars on KRC's #291 The Pukatawagan Mixed on March 16, 2023, was KRC 5649 (ex-VIA 5649, exx-CN 5649) Class PB-79-A, 79 foot First Class car. It was built by CC&F in 1954, and converted to it's current baggage/coach configuration in 1998.
Prior to being placed behind the locomotives for today's departure, KRC 5649 sits at the south end of The Pas station plugged in to wayside power and coupled to baggage car KRC 9631 .
