Certainly not the Kingston subdivision I started off Railfaning years ago. For the most part, gone is the variety of motive power, especially all on the head end. This is the land of DPU now and it seems to work well for CN. While I always considered the Kingston subdivision flat, that’s not really the case. The town of Salem is little more than a dot on the map east of Colbourne and I didn’t know it existed until my brother-in-law moved there. Most visits end up with a brief period of time track side. It was sad to see that CN removed the old closed steel bridge east of town this spring eliminating one of our favourite spots. The shot just west of the bridge quickly illustrates the roller coaster profile that some sections of the subdivision has. Here a westbound comes out of the dip with its ex CREX DPU showing in the distance.
