I so enjoyed the days of special steam excursions operated by the St. Thomas Central. Myself and a good railfan friend often tried to catch as many as possible while they lasted. This days excursion travel almost to the end of track in Delhi’s east end. After catching the train in Courtland we raced to the big bridge in Delhi for a shot. Wanted something different we raced down the hill to the creek not realizing how tight the shit was going to be. While my friend found a tree partly extending over the creek I chose a safer spot. Needless to say he got a better shot than me, but also ended up in the creek, lol. I’m sure today we are both happy to have gotten our shots, as today the line here is no more, and as of last year the bridge is gone as well. I’m sure for the crew this day the view was pretty nice and maybe an even a bit scary.
