Keen watchers will note this is well after all sw1001's entered service. The crew was using one until moments before this and hopped into #11 to make this move meaning 4 units are in service when this photo was taken. #11 has lived all its life here

    Matthew only when using it for storage. When the paint booth falls behind they can store unoainted things here but again it’s random and infrequent.

    The finished coils wer being pulled out in this move in may

    For months they may not use it at all.

    Ive been going down to Hamilton frequently for 15 years and only seen it three times.

    Perhaps they were about to pull out some of the dozens of finished NS coil cars that appeared to be on hold, and stored on that lead, pending the outcome the crash where NSC NS cars were implicated (incorrrectly as it turned out I think). Great photo Stephen! James/FFV.
