On July 5, 1975 Canadian Pacific FP7 locomotive No. 4062, the third locomotive of westbound Extra 4088 caught fire and was disconnected from the train near mileage 78.5, about two miles east of Franz, Ontario. A Ministry of Natural Resources forest fire suppression crew (including the photographer) was dispatched from Wawa to the scene to prevent the fire from spreading to the adjacent forest.
