On August 23, 2023, I was surprised by the very late arrival of an SLA train to Southwark, identified as CN 393. Usually, these trains pass eastbound in the morning.

  1. Very nice. CN with G&W engines? And why CN if it’s St Lawrence & Atlantic? Curious as i’m not familiar with the operation.

  2. BradKetchen Thanks! It’s not a CN train, it’s an SL&A train it his running on CN track so it’s a CN (H)393 because the train has rights trackage over St. Hyacinthe Sub

  3. Thanks Victor. In all these Years I never knew a train with running rights had to use the hosts train symbol. Thanks for clarifying!

  4. @BradKetchen that’s how the CN service design works, GEXR 432/431 were always factored in as CN trains for their service design.

    Great picture Victor
