An evening view of the TTC's Eglinton West Subway Station, four years after it and the new Spadina subway line opened, shows a train of G-series "Red Rocket" Gloucester subway cars departing northbound for Wilson station (the then-end terminus of the line), as southbound traffic on the Allen Road backs up nearby. Eglinton West was where the Spadina line transitioned from running underground to open-cut, between the northbound and southbound lanes of Allen Road (what was planned as the Spadina Expressway running all the way downtown, but ended here at Eglinton Avenue due to pressure by citizens groups).

Some Flyer buses are visible at the station platforms above, including a TTC 83/8400-series D901 in the newer "CLRV paint", and an older D800 in the previous red and cream livery.

Original photographer unknown (possibly a John H. Eagle photo), Dan Dell'Unto collection slide.
