Brand new TTC subway car 5685, an H5-class car built by Hawker Siddeley Canada in Thunder Bay, sits on specially-equipped flatcar NIFX 1002 on CP's Parkdale Yard near downtown Toronto, soon to be interchanged to CN for final delivery to Greenwood Yard. This car features the as-delivered ends painted black ("blackface"), that were later repainted silver due to visibilty issues in tunnels.

Old CP wooden cabooses for local use sit on the adjacent track, with CP 437229 first in line (in the short-lived red and yellow "action script" scheme, but with a plywood panel missing revealing the original boxcar red paint and tongue-and-groove wooden siding).

The car is soon to be interchanged to CN, who will do the final delivery to TTC's Greenwood Yard. After almost four decades of service, 5685 would be retired in May 2012 and sold for scrap.
