  1. Very nice! Nothing like the long nose forward MLW RS2/3′s that were supposed to run that way. I didn’t know they had the tall fence on the bridge in 64.

  2. Yes, this is a great photo for sure. The locomotives in the classic maroon and grey look to be two RS10s and an RS18 trailing. The lead unit is dual service, and you can see the CPR beaver shield on its long hood face, denoting that it is or was used in passenger service. This is classic CPR in my opinion.

  4. @Flangeway I believe you are correct. The RS10′s, and surely not RS18′s, were not meant to be run long forward were they? So another reason for a great photo!

  5. The third unit is an RS18. You can tell by the orientation of the paint. You are correct that CP RS10 units were set up to run long hood forward, while RS18s were set up to run short hood forward.

  6. The wide fuel/water tanks hint that both RS10′s are dual-service units.

  7. What an awesome shot! I have passed these tracks and gone under them on CN’s Bala Sub, more times then I can count. It is fantastic to finally see a train on these tracks,especially with an MLW consist. There was a time that GO transit thought about using these tracks once more. They laid ribbon rail from CN Oriole on the Bala Sub to connect with CP’s Belleville Sub at Leaside. Sadly it did not happen and the tracks were all ripped out and today is a bike trail. Oh what could have been.
