CN train 5, the Lakeshore, rolls into Belleville behind an A-B-A set of GMD FP9 units, passing Extra DMIR 154 east. During the winters beginning 1963-1964 through the winter of 1973-1974, DM&IR SD9s and SD18s were often leased by CN, as well as CP and other lines, to fill out power shortages. The winter of 1965/66 saw CN leasing 20 units.

  1. The NAR also leased a couple DM&IR SD9′s prior to the purchase of the SD38-2′s.

  2. Very nice, well framed.
