This former VIA Rail Bombardier LRC (Light, Rapid, Comfortable) locomotive now sits paintless, numberless, and powerless at the Diesel Equipment Services facility in Sudbury, ON. Once a mainstay of VIA's Windsor-Quebec City corridor routes, these LRC locomotives have all been retired.

  1. Interesting. The two that went up to DESX were VIA 6903 and 6905, but I’m not quite sure if anyone figured out which was repainted and which wasn’t…

  2. On my next trip to the facility I will check the s/n’s to try and determine which is which.

  3. Did anyone ever end up determining the identities of the two loco’s? I’ve wondered this for some time now.

  4. I haven’t been to Sudbury in the last couple of months. I’ll try to get the s/n’s over the winter or next spring.

  5. This one should be ex-VIA 6905, the converted and painted one “2007″ is ex-VIA 6903.
