Having just crossed the Alexandra Bridge, the first section of CPR no. 8, "The Dominion," approaches old Ottawa Union Station. In less than two years, passenger service to Canada's capital will be relocated to the present Union Station, located south of the downtown. The Alexandra Bridge still stands today, in use by vehicles and pedestrians. It is due to be replaced in the near future.
