Almost 53 years ago I had a guided tour of CP's Weston Shops in Winnipeg, MB where I photographed a relatively new GP38AC #3002. Fast forward to last month, July 2025, and I caught the same unit still earning money for its new owner CPKC at Hankinson, ND. The unit was still close to my original photo location being only a couple hundred miles south of Winnipeg. No photo as it was in the USA, but here is what she looked like all those years ago. One can only guess how many locations and miles the unit has logged in those 50+ years.

  1. CP 3002 was the first GP38AC I ever saw, 1970 near new in 1970 at Port Coquitlam, and by happy coincidence was the first unit worked on in 1982 as a newly-minted electrician. Many photos and numerous miles over the years, delighted 3002 is continuing strong in 2025.
