Caption: There's something at Bathurst Street for everyone to like: CN S13 8515 switches the head end of a passenger train at Cabin D, below the Bathurst Street bridge at the TTR's "Cabin D" interlocking. Well-worn CN GP40 4017, one of two GP40's with high-speed gearing assigned to corridor passenger service out of Spadina Roundhouse, trails with a 15300-series Tempo generator baggage (one of three converted from baggage cars with a HEP unit for use with Tempo trains). Above, nearly new TTC CLRV 4014 rolls south over Bathurst Street bridge on a southbound 511 Bathurst run.
Changes are underway in the background with construction of the flyunder, and reconstruction of Bathurst North Yard for GO layover use (the interlocking here would be renamed "Bathurst Street" when Cabin D was closed in 1983 and replaced by an automated interlocking plant controlled remotely from TTR John St. interlocking tower. That CN yard tower visible would also be demolished). Also of note in this scene is the Bathurst Tool building at Front & Bathurst, and in the background traces of the downtown Toronto skyline (also, check out all the tell-tails hanging down above the track!).
