As evidenced by the stenciling on the sidewall of the cab, this ex-CN GMD-1 most recently did time at the I.N.C,O, facility in Copper Cliff, ON before being retired once again to a deadline. Here it sits with four of its brothers, all waiting their fate, and hoping for yet another life with a shortline or industrial railroad somewhere.

  1. Also interesting, the green paint of the original 1950′s paint job is starting to bleed through the noodle on the lead unit.

  2. In 2006, a friend and I rode our motorcycles down to Arkansas to visit an old friend. On the west side of the state, I was on a bridge and looked down and saw two GMD-1′s, still in CN paint, switching an industry. These critters get everywhere!
