South Pulls North. The first snow is over and now it's a downpour- just an absolutely miserable day. Ontario Southland's St Thomas job is half way home, crossing Crampton Rd outside Mossley with a pair of unusual bedfellows in the form of a former passenger coach and baggage car from the defunct York-Durham Heritage Railway. Disappointing what happened in Uxbridge, but these two pieces have been spared from the scrappers torch and will be painted at OSR's shop in Salford for the VIA Rail Historical Society. Once completed they will head to Mimico to join the organizations other equipment including their FP9u 6539 (the former OSR unit which received the same treatment last year). Sort of interesting capturing a former Ontario Northland coach on the Ontario Southland. Even more interesting having this equipment together as their own train as there was no other traffic ex St Thomas to bring back towards CPKC.
