Shown is southbound ONR TEE-Train (Werkspoor) #1981, one of 4 sets brought over from Europe to handle passenger traffic on the ONR. All four power units were retired in 1980, to be replaced by ONR's FP7 locomotives. Powassan station survived into the 1980s, used as a storage facility, only to be destroyed by fire.

  1. Nice shot! After being born in North Bay, ON back in September of 1953, Powassan is where my parents brought me home to. :-)
Being in a railroad family, Powassan was just one of many towns, cities, and provinces I would eventually live and work in over the next 67 years.
