Caption: At the end of Hudson Bay Railway's Herchmer Subdivision lies Churchill, Manitoba. At left VIA's Hudson Bay sits at the station having wye'd before it's arrival with passengers on board. The passenger train will head south later in the evening. On the right is the recently arrived general mixed freight train from Thompson which has likely made several stops along the way. This train carried a 1919 vintage heavyweight combination coach/baggage until late 2000 painted in VIA colours. The true mixed train status was finally dropped with all passengers being accommodated on VIA #692 and #693. The headlight seen behind is GATX 2683 and its crew waiting to resume their duties of switching grain cars to be off-loaded at the nearby port destined for export to foreign markets.
