CN 7001 with an SOR crew pulls some tanks out of Bunge in Hamilton. To this day I've never been able to figure out whether this was an extra SOR job or if I had my info on SOR ops wrong, either way I haven't seen any other shots of CN power down the spur so was glad to grab a shot one way or the other!

  1. At the time the Steel train still ran – CN supplied SOME power for the steel train.. so CN units on SOR were not uncommon. Usually it was one CN one SOR unit, but it varied.

  2. Yeah I remember seeing quite a few CN units on lease to SOR, namely 7001 and 4706 before that fairly long term. But I never remember seeing the steel train with tanks? Must have been some sort of extra yard job.

  3. Yes, it’s not the steel train ;)

  4. Tank cars are normally not spotted on that track (the “bayside” as its cleverly nicknamed, the other being named the “mealside”)at Bunge. Interesting photo.
