I was at Snider when I heard 393 call himself out of Mac Yard with the 2176 leading. Knowing that I required a photo of 2176 I raced over to this location. While I was driving, I received a heads up that the trailing unit was worth shooting as well, so my gamble of heading over here paid off. Little did I know that it would pay off in triplicate due to the next two westbounds, which were equally as interesting as this train. Unfortunately, a rogue cloud became aware that I was waiting for this shot, and just seconds before the train passed the sun was blocked. Naturally, the cloud moved on moments after the power passed by.

It will be interesting to see how long the second batch of patched Oakway SD60s remains in service before being promptly repainted, and if any other used SD60s are on the horizon for CN.

  1. Nice shot Dave! Those damned clouds! Unfortunately I only got up there for 435.
