The main purpose of a lock is to keep something safe, whether it is locking your front door or your car. In the case of this lock it is keeping a switch safe on the CN Hagersville Subdivision in Caledonia Ontario. This lock has been protecting this switch for a long time, it has been here for so long that the cover with the CNR lettering has rusted in its current position but the lock still functions as if it was new. It has seen a lot of different paint schemes over the years and soon it will be seeing the Orange and Black of Genesee and Wyoming. While so many things change over the years this lock has remained them same.
