Ontario Northland GP38-2s 1809 and 1804 power the northbound Cochrane to Moosonee Polar Bear Express past Milepost 5.0 of the Island Falls subdivision. This train is notable for being the last operating mixed train (handling freight and passengers) in Ontario.  The full consist of this day's Polar Bear Express was as follows: ONT 1809 (GP38-2) ONT 1804 (GP38-2) ONT 100504 (Vehicle flatcar) ONT 100506 (Vehicle flatcar) ONT 100502 (Vehicle flatcar) ONT 7776 (Boxcar) ONT 855 (Coach) ONT 900 "Otter Rapids" (Dome Coach) ONT 851 (Coach) ONT 604 (Coach) ONT 601 (Coach) ONT 701 (Cafe Car) ONT 603 (Coach) ONT 413 (Baggage) ONT 205 (Generator) ONT 2556 (Boxcar) ONT 7737 (Boxcar) ONT 7738 (Boxcar)  The flatcars handled private vehicles being transported to Moosonee by passengers, and the various boxcars handled mail and express and also often handle canoes, ATVs, and in the winter, snowmobiles. Other regular freight to Moosonee is handled in a separate freight train.
