This has trains mag written all over it
As a retired railroader (over 37years), first thing I noticed was the open knuckle.
An old timer once told me.. always close the knuckle in snowy weather, otherwise snow packs in the openings and the pin won’t drop until it is removed…usually with a fusee (flare).
This proved especially true on the branchlines with single units where we didn’t turn the power and pulled the return train on the other end.
