    Mike – The Brantford, Waterloo and Lake Erie built through here, and according to what I have read they were a shortcut-taking cheap railway and purchased a VERY narrow right of way through Brantford. (Where most other railways purchase a much wider right of way) By the time they went bankrupt and/or sold to the TH&B the TH&B was probably stuck with the railway as it was, and the homes were built up around it. Imagine how many trio’s of C424′s ran by here during the CP steel train days and the TH&B West locals, and passenger trains… :)

    Today most municipal planning/development requirements include a significant separation distance or a berm between housing developments and railways.

    Joseph, I understand the CN connection to the TH&B, but where did CN branch off for Burford that lead to the intersection with LE&N crossing the Grand River?
