When foreign power started showing up in Ontario again, I never thought I could complain about it. Turns out I got somewhat sick of seeing GE's from any class 1 railroad somewhat quickly (especially BNSF), unless they were in an older paint scheme. Aware CN 331 was offering a view of a BNSF "EMD", I wasted to time getting up to see it. Here, it passes in front of the relatively new St. Catharines Hospital with CN 2196 and BNSF 8780 for power. This is the second day in a row 331 has had an FPON, somewhat rivaling yesterday's lashup.

  1. 3rd day in a row actually….3 days ago it had a BNSF.

  2. Will have to see what 330 has tonight! I’d really like for that CSX YN2 to return.

  3. Until I read the caption, I was going to say that things really have changed in St. Catharines, since living there decades ago. My head was reeling at how different the General Hospital, and the area surrounding it, was from how I remembered it.

  4. I haven’t got a Union Pacific on 330/31 yet so I’d like to see one of those!

  5. It has only happened a few times this year it seems, but I agree. Wouldn’t mind a UP SD70MAC in particular. As to Joe, I have only lived in St. Catharines for 7 years and already miss some things. Most of it is related to the Hospital, in which it has made things dramatically busier in in the west end of St. Catharines. On the other hand, the freight traffic has really died down.

  6. Let me know what comes through tonight so I know whether or not to get out tomorrow.

  7. Just CN 8963 and 8946 tonight. A pair of SD70M-2′s isn’t that common of a lashup in Niagara however.

  8. Did you shoot 330 at all yesterday or 331 today? I was on board.

  9. Really? No, I didn’t. Kinda regret not getting up for a pair of CN SD70M-2′s. So you were on 330 on the Grimsby Sub? What a treat. If you saw a car parked a little in front of the “CN Jordan” interlocking sign, I was there to see 330.
