Here is an unusual day for the Niagara's Clifton Hill Tourist Area. No cars!!!! I was heading downtown as I knew there was a train coming over the border from the States, and hoped to park and grab a shot of it before it got to Clifton Hill crossing. Not quite quick enough. But the very fact the area was devoid of auto traffic was shocking. Wide open!! I just stopped the car and ran out into the street. One can imagine the impact a slow moving freight had on the local activities in the busy tourist season. But this is November, it is dull, cool and quiet. CP 4222, 8212, 4245 and 8208 are seen doing the usual stately 10 MPH.

  1. Neat shot Arnold!

  2. Love seeing shots here. I saw a few trains in 2001… thinking I would go back to get a couple photos later. I didn’t know two weeks later the line would be abandoned. Nonetheless, I can stare at this :)
