Standing across from William Street on what used to be the Canadian National Newton Subdivision...the Palmerston divisional station and iron foot bridge that once helped pedestrians cross the busy yard now stand still. The station was restored around 1996 - and is now the Palmerston Heritage Railway Museum (well worth the visit). The foot bridge had extensive restoration to it as well around 2010-2011. Lines used to sprawl out with trains carrying passengers to Guelph or Hamilton in the south, to Harriston, Owen Sound and Wiarton to the north, as well as to other places like Durham, Southampton, Listowel and Kincardine. Now the station and bridge sit silent - frozen in time yet well preserved.
