"3393east, authorized to work between mile 51 and mile 49 Guelph Sub." Hearing this on the scanner, I headed for the tracks. 432 arrived at Guelph at 0810 with 13 cars behind the "SD-trio." 12 cars in XW20, left by 582 (QGRY 2500) were added to the rear. The majority of the time was spent releasing a hand brake which was set too tight. The cars were hauled out of XW20, and the entire crew went to the rear to release the stubborn brake. While the brake is released, 3393 reflects upon the day's tasks. Finally, at 0852, 432 departed for CN Mac Yard. The 9600 horse power of the 3 veteran locomotives hauled the 25 cars out of Guelph, for point east.

  1. I just heard last evening, apparently it was derated for lower fuel consumption.

  2. JP no idea why the 3054 was derated, it entered service on GEXR that way when LDS rebuilt the cab and did other various mechanical repairs.

  3. cncpguy sounds just like a trainmaster!

  4. Thans for the comments guys.

RLK, why was the hp on 3054 dropped?

  5. Boys boys boys, no need to get your knickers in a knot. Corrections are always welcome and I don’t see any negativity in what RLK2211 has been saying, it’s just information.

Corrections add to the accuracy, compliments are always welcome.

  6. With all do respect, we get it, you work for gexr, RLK2211. I understand that we all strive for the most accurate and up to date information, but your correcting everyone on literally every photo of the gexr has become rather annoying. It’s ok to correct someone, but be polite about it at the very least. I work for CN, but I don’t feel the need to put my 2 cents in on every photo. Sure I’ve added tidbits of information here and there trying to help, but I’ve always tried to compliment the photographer on their work. With that said, nice shot JP!

  7. Excellent work Jacob. This is a great photo!

  8. 3054 has been derated to 3200 hp

  9. I thought SD40-2s had 3000hp and the SD45T-2 had 3600hp. Were any of the units offline? It sounde like all were running.

  10. It’s actually only 3200 hp.

  11. Note: reporting marks should be: GEXR 3393, GEXR 3394, GEXR 3054.
