Caption: Host did end up getting the better tail shot of the Hickory Creek, so I didn't see a point bothering. In this case, I was also just lucky, and decided to wait out at Jordan to see if Via 98 would have Amtrak 184 again. Sure enough it did, but what was at the tail end warranted a frantic chase to Burlington, and opted for Lemonville Road. The bridge that is, not the hangout spot down below. Sure enough, I got there several minutes ahead of it. As seen, Amtrak 184 leads the regular five Amfleet coaches and the 20th Century Limited 'Hickory Creek' private car into Aldershot. As mentioned in Host's photo, it is returning stateside via the New York bound Maple Leaf on May 30th. The last time I saw private cars on the Leaf was five years ago, and there was three of them. Nonetheless, they are far more rare than your Amtrak heritage unit, as there's two or more a year, and usually come by several times before leaving the Albany division back to Chicago.

Nice. Because of my location, ‘giving chase’ was not an option. There is no way I could have caught up to it. Besides, I had a prior engagement which was my reason for being in town.
I’ve seen PV on a number of occasions on both the International and the Maple Leaf and it is most certainly quite rare – once every year or two at best.
Did Amtrak open it up to let anyone use? There was quite a number of people in there this morning.
