I really like this photo for two reasons, first it captures an aspect of railroading that doesn’t get as much coverage as motive power. Second, I like how the car is still and the ground is rushing by.
If I recall, UN1202 is diesel fuel and UN 1203 is gasoline. The dangerous placards are relevant to train crews for train marshalling and emergency response in incidents such as derailments & leaks. Sometimes I used to look a cars of commodities and ask myself, how much is that load worth? In this case, a lot of diesel fuel, and the rough math probably says thousands of dollars.
