  1. Interesting – how often did these potash moves run and who took them west?

  2. Wow!
Hard to imagine that yard ever that busy.

  3. Pretty sure the CP potash ended up at Ridgetown but I don’t know which railway moved it there.

Interesting shot mostly all CN rolling stock in that yard!

  4. CN took them west usually a few at a time but I can remember them going all at once pulled by a couple CN GP40′s

  5. Unbelievable how times can change! Great capture, thanks for sharing Larry.

  6. Ahh Ridgetown.. I can’t for the life of me wonder why CN didn’t add Ridgetown to the Blenheim ‘shortline’ and just let it go as they did… a real shame really. There were good customers down that way.

  7. I’m not sure who took over these trains from CP at St. Thomas, but they weren’t many of them run. I recall one trip we were taxied from Quebec St. to St. Thomas to run the 55 empties to Woodstock. We offered to take them thru to Toronto, but the management had other ideas. We set them off, and ran van hop to Quebec Street.
