  1. Great news. At least they will look good again. Most of the P42′s have been quite rattty looking these days.

  2. Wondering what the Via plans are? Click this link for more details: http://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/all-aboard-for-the-celebrations-via-rail-invites-travellers-to-join-in-canadas-150th-birthday-festivities-613047593.html

What I will say is that with 22 locomotives floating around in 150 wraps…odds are good we’ll all be seeing them!

  3. VIA will announce their 150th plans on Tuesday – watch for more information.

  4. They should have used the same designer that does the RCAF CF-18 Hornet demonstration aircraft and others.

  5. Nice Shot Ian!

  6. City names are just supposed to be significant station stops across the VIA system from what I have heard.

  7. like this from 1980? (James Adeney photo http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=7737 )

  8. It’s different, I’ll take it :)
We need more variety around here!

  9. Does anyone know what the significance of the city names on the side is?

  10. Good stuff, Ian. Thanks for the heads-up today.

  11. Something has gone terribly wrong….no red….no white???

  12. I like the yellow and gray. Kinda like the old gray ghost FP9A.
    Thanks for the picture Ian.

  13. They could have done way better for Canada’s 150th…just sayin
