A fitting photo as my train 570 climbs through the mist on its way back to Macmillan Yard.

The photo also describes my feeling today as it is my last day as a locomotive engineer for CN after 36 years with the company. I will still be an engineer but will run off my last miles at VIA Rail.

I have seen many changes over the years, some good and some not so good, but I will always consider myself blessed to have worked a job that I have wanted since I was 10 yrs old. How lucky am I?

I hope to see you guys track side doing what you love, photographing railroads!

FYI I will be on my last train today, a 570 running from Mac Yrd to Aldershot and return. So if the rains hold off hope to see you out there so I can give one last blast of the horn. 570 is ordered at Mac for 1400.
