  1. In all the images I have seen of this building I have never noticed that there was a track that curved west beside it. I’m guessing the track was used as a ramp track?

  2. Yes, it was used to unload farm machinery.

  3. This building was still being used when I was working as Conductor on the 1500 Guelph Jct roadswitcher in 1977. We ran from Guelph Jct up to Guelph & stopped on the “yard” side of the building. There was a clerk in the office that provided us with the switchlist for the industries in Guelph. I can’t recall if there was any other activity going on in the building. I note the track in the foreground, which seems to have gone out of view to “somewhere”. By 1977 it was cut back to a few car lengths from the switch and used to park the Guelph yard engine, which had previously been parked at the engine shed at the foot of the wye on Alice Street.
