I had been in southern Ontario for a family function and went to Chatham to visit friends there. Being railfans we were out and about and got some slides of this eastbound passenger train leaving Chatham. This image is a "crop and zoom" and hopefully captures the scene. Four MLW's (3127-3108-3112-3121) were in charge moving this train. I am not sure of the train number, but, I'm sure Bruce Mercer would know as he was right beside me taking in this view.

  1. That’s a LOT of motive power for a passenger train.. and not a single cab unit to be seen.

  2. All MLW’s, hazah!

  3. Could it be possible that you guys are at the C&O diamond? The train would be crossing Park Street. It looks like this area….

  4. Yes we’re standing at the C&O diamond and this is #78 I do believe ( my notes are packed away).
