Caption: An old friend backs onto his train in track 1 at MacTier after setting off 2 tie gons in the yard. Plenty has changed at MacTier over the years since this photo, but one change we tend to overlook is the friendly faces we meet out there. Unfortunately he never made it to retirement, but he still stands out in my memory as one of the friendliest faces to ever throw us a bottle of water and a lineup. He would always take a few minutes out of his day to shake hands and chat, make sure I was keeping up in school and out of trouble. Cheers to a mentor, and an old friend.
