With RLHH 3403 out of service for repairs, RLHH 595 is presently running with a more interesting consist with RLHH 3049, NECR 3840, and RLHH 3404. The train is shown switching at Garnet on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Get your Southern Ontario Railway shots now; the Imperial Oil refinery will soon be shutting down for 3 - 4 months, which is going to have a significant impact on operations.

  1. So there were two photographers in town today. I dropped by briefly on the way to Port Dover – the crew love to make comments about us. They do know we have radios too, right?

  2. I briefly had pleasant conversations with both crew members. My visit today was also brief on our drive to Long Point! :)

  3. Great :) Our twice (sometimes three) times a summer routine is Port Dover, Hewitt’s then home and I’ll see if SOR is around somewhere in both directions. It’s like fishing in a bucket though, they are always there.

How do you find long point compared to Port Dover?

  4. I imagine Port Dover is fairly busy/crowded? We’ve never gone there. Today was the first time going to Long Point Provincial Park. Nice and quiet, not crowded, and a beautiful sandy beach. We’ll be back.

  5. yes, it can be, but it’s a traditional beach town, with close by amenities. I don’t think I can afford the extra drive to Long Point, my kids don’t have the patience and we’re further away. Dover is the closest good beach to me.

  6. Loved going to PD. The Norfolk Tavern station
was always fun. And i’d always drop by the Jarvis station.. Moved now.
