I heard CP 246 get a clearance down the Hamilton sub to Desjardins and heard the leader as CP 8619 and thought to myself about going out to get it. It was time for a coffee so off I went to the Carlisle crossing to shoot it there and get my coffee afterwards. Well the coffee had to wait as CP 8619 with CP 9821 approached. Two nice red engines were trailing and to my luck and surprise were a pair of SD40-2's in CP 5846 and CP 5791. The chase was on and I ended up under the Hamilton McQuesten High Bridge where this shot is from. As we all know, you can't tell from the scanner what's behind.the leader.

  1. Nice catch Bill ! Any idea where the 40-2′s are off to ? If are on the active list or not ?

  2. Chatter on the scanner said they were being dropped off at Frontier Yard. They were “dead” according to the conductor.

  3. Those 2 were sold awhile back and rumoured to be shipped to Africa.

  4. Cool shot
