In GEXR's first week of operation, GEXR 177 is taking care of business on the dock in Goderich. Note the difference in capacity compared to the lake vessel alongside.
Later on, GEXR 177 would haul a number of loaded salt cars up the hill to the yard, unassisted. Other pictures taken on same film that day show GEXR 179 and GEXR 180 tied up, apparently near the old Goderich station.

  1. The former S/S Cedarglen owned by Goderich Elevators LTD., at the time and used as grain storage before being sold for scrap in 1994.

  2. Interesting spot for an ESSO sign.
