I had just finished shooting Trillium in Port Colborne (a couple of shots here and here) and was heading back to the Port Rob area when I heard CP TE11 talking to CN RTC. I had no real clue where they were, and was in fact heading somewhere else to look when I happened upon them at CN's Southern Yard (which in hindsight would have been the obvious place to look first) working the interchange. It was a very windy day with snow squalls at times, and here a couple of crew members are caught up in some unpleasant weather as they walk the length of the train to the head end so they can return to Welland Yard. I felt bad for them until I realized I was out standing at the side of the road in the same conditions they were in.

  1. That signal is slightly off kilter don’t you think? I shot a video when I was being pelted with ice once on my cellphone.

  2. When Amtrak 514 came over on the Maple Leaf last year, I stood atop a bridge to shoot it in that ice pellet storm. Good times!

  3. Yeah even I thought the people who went out for 514 that day were crazy. :)

  4. I had the flu too…lol
