This southbound CN manifest passes the bustling Sudbury Junction VIA station as it rolls toward the Lasalle Blvd. crossing with an ex-UP standard cab toaster in tow. The track at left which starts by the station is the north leg of the wye onto the Sudbury Spur.

  1. Great shot. Nice location too.

  2. @Stephen Thank you! This is definitely a seasonally dependent spot.

  3. Yeah, I also like the location – how is it seasonally dependent? Last time I was up by the station I watched a black bear stroll down the other side of the tracks.

  4. @craigandru I was standing on a two- to three-storey mound of ice and snow that had been taken from snow removal operations in the city. I’m pretty sure it’s just a ground-level flat lot the rest of the year (and it was melting fast by the time I took this!).
